I use what I learned in this training in every client meeting.

I made time for the training based on the individuals who are involved and their reputations. I also found the topic of being able to connect people on a more intuitive and emotional level very intriguing.

I’ve never received training like this before, and I’m quite proactive in terms of trying to manage my own personal development. I’m particularly interested in behavioural finance and also financial psychology. So, I’ve been actively trying to seek development in this area, but this is certainly fresh, it all felt very new in terms of the actual training in this area.

Money is emotionally charged. It’s taboo to talk about. When helping guide people through financial decisions that they face, understanding and being able to respond to their emotional journey, as well as understanding our own emotions as we go through that journey, I think guides better conversations, ultimately resulting in better outcomes.

Lots of practical tips and things that you can use every single day, almost in every single conversation. I think the main things are around self-awareness and recognising the different emotions, the triggers of them, and the best way to respond to them.

The biggest single benefit from attending the training was getting a deeper understanding of emotions, specifically their temporary nature, and therefore, considering that, how best to reflect on where a client might be and how and when to have those important conversations.

The training will benefit my clients greatly. If I can help manage their emotional journeys and, armed with some insights, approach them in a more appropriate way, at a more appropriate time, then that ultimately leads them to make better decisions, which is key to having better outcomes. So, it’s really fundamental training.

The training has had a huge impact on me personally. I think the framework gives you a deeper understanding around the emotions and understanding of the emotions. It means that in every interaction, particularly those emotionally-charged ones – they’re the more difficult ones, you’ve got this very sound, very academically robust framework that can help you understand yourself and understand the state of the person that you’re working with, that you’re trying to help, that you’re serving. And therefore, armed with that, you can find a better way through.

I would one hundred percent recommend this training to other financial advisers and planners. I think recently it’s been more and more recognised that this is a behavioural game. You know, the biggest part of advice alpha is helping people make decisions and avoid mistakes. It’s that behaviour gap, that advice alpha. This course is the best course I’m aware of that actually helps you deliver on that emotional coaching through better understanding emotions and your own emotions, through actually giving you a practical framework through which to build your own emotional intelligence.

Something I haven’t said so far is that the thing that most impressed me about the course was the calibre of James and Cliff. They are extremely top-class professionals. James, in particular, you can tell he’s got real honesty and integrity. He cares about academic rigour, and Cliff is just an absolutely unbelievable expert in this space. It’s something that they’re passionate about. I think it’s something that if financial advisers improve in this area, they’ll have a huge impact on the decision-making of people that are seeking advice, and that will have a huge positive impact on the UK, our financial literacy levels, and our prosperity.
